James Redfern currently lives in Victoria British Columbia.
Raised in B.C. the return to British Columbia was the realization of a dream after
a four and a half year work-related stint in Northern Alberta.
“It was an exciting adventure….but a real challenge to maintain work-life balance. I don’t regret it a bit but I finally decided health over money! It was an amazing chapter in my life!”
During his stay in Alberta the idea for ‘BoldArt’ was created. He had no idea if the process of dried paint assembled on a substrate would be possible. Creating sheets of dry paint would be the challenge. While in Alberta JR experimented with the process and the first tests were positive. He did not have the space or the time to pursue the new concept until after the British Columbia arrival . Now, out of a small home studio in the Quadra suburb of Victoria, BoldArt is created.
Due to the contemporary nature of the work, its customizable nature and its extreme durability, JR decided the professional design, decorating and architectural industry would be the best sectors to promote the new artwork called 3 dimensional texture.
